What happens in Vegas…ends up on this blog!

24 May

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week!

I haven’t been on here in what seems like forever and I’m so glad to be back.

I sent out a little request for ideas on my Facebook page! I need recipe ideas for next week so either let me know on Facebook or comment below and I may just use on of your ideas!

I have another post to do next week as a little continuation of the Vegas trip. It’s a specific review of one of the awesome restaurants we visited while in Sin City! It was amazing and I will share it with you next week. I even have a little video to go along with it.

For today, I just wanted to drop in and tell you a little about the trip and show you some photos. Just a heads up that I fail at taking photos on vacations, I just tend to focus more on enjoying my trip than taking photos, but I tried to remember to snap some here and there.

Okay, let’s go!

Airplane drinks.

Well I should say drink. I wasn’t up for a beer at quarter after 7 in the morning.

Like I mentioned, we stayed at the Treasure Island which was pretty good. I asked for a room upgrade and they ended up giving us a corner room on the 32nd floor, the room was really nice, sorry I didn’t take any photos! We had two huge windows, both of which looked onto the strip, one looked one way and one looked the other, which was really neat. We spent a lot of time late at night looking out the windows.

Looking onto the Palazzo and the Venetian:

The other way was the Wynn and the Encore as well as the Fashion Show Mall:

There was always something to see, so that was pretty cool!

For a reasonably priced hotel on the strip, I’d consider the TI a good value. In my opinion there is two places the hotel was lacking, their customer service and their restaurants. I don’t know if it’s just living in Vancouver that makes me used to people being very friendly all the time, but I found that a lot of the employees at the TI were not only unfriendly, but sometimes downright rude. I thought that was kind of lame. As far as the restaurants go, if you’re looking for a wide variety and some higher end eats, I would not suggest Treasure Island. They have a buffet, cafe with Pho, a steakhouse, Seafood Shack, Senor Frogs, and Kahunaville which was like a Hawaiian style party bar.

The great thing about Vegas, though, is that there are TONS of other hotels and restaurants nearby that you can visit. We ended up doing that a lot and it was really nice to have some variety. The location of TI is great because it is between the fashion show mall and Mirage, then the Wynn & Encore as well as the Venetian and Palazzo are all right across the street. So there’s lots of places to go in just a brief 5 minute walk.

We stopped by the Wynn one morning for breakfast and they have this beautiful waterfall right at the entrance to the hotel. It was gorgeous!

The inside of the Wynn was even better, they have a pretty little garden right at the entrance to the casino.

The flowers and plants on the ground were all real, and they had those massive flower ball things hanging from the trees. The photo doesn’t do it justice, it’s really even more beautiful in real life.

I will talk about the Wynn a little more next week when I tell you about the awesome restaurant we got to go to.

We also made a little trip down to Freemont Street, which I was told was a “must do.” I think it would have been better at night but it was still cool to see. We went in a couple of the old casinos like the Golden Nugget.

There was also a car show happening that day as well and it was all the cars from old movies, along with some of the stars from the movies. Mr. Delish was all over that, he got to see some of the cars used in the bond movies.

He also got a photo with a guy dressed up as Alan from the Hangover. Hahah! This MAY have been after a few drinks.

One of the last things we got to do in Vegas was head over to the Rehab Pool Party to watch my friend Richard, DJ.

Richard KILLED it! We had an amazing time, it was such a fun atmosphere, I would definitely suggest heading over there if you are into the party scene. Richard DJ’s almost every weekend so you may just see him there :)

He even gave a shout out to Miss Delish which was amahzing!

I have some videos which I will post on YouTube so you can see them as well.

Don’t mind the girl in the bikini shakin’ her booty onstage, I just wanted to show you how crazy the crowd was!

All in all Vegas was a great time, not sure if I will be back soon just because I have other places that I want to visit but if the opportunity arises I would definitely go back! OH and I almost forgot to tell you the best part, I won $600 bucks! Which is bizarre because I don’t even really like to gamble. I stuck $20 in a slot machine when I was waiting for people, and won! I was looking around like damn, why isn’t there anyone around to witness this. I ended up hitting Lu Lu Lemon pretty hard!

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this little post and I will be back next week with some more recipes and MAYBE just maybe, a YouTube video.

Have a fabulous weekend guys and I will talk to you soon!
