Crunchy Goat Cheese and Cranberry Stuffed Chicken

30 Jan

Good Morning Ya’ll!

I hope you’re all having a fabulous morning so far. It’s Wednesday! Which means two more days till the weekend.

Anyone else think it’s sad that I start counting down the days till the weekend as soon as my alarm goes off Monday morning?

Actually I’ve decided that I could probably skip the whole alarm thing, considering my cat wakes me up every morning before I have the chance to wake up on my own. Which leads me to a list:

5 things about my cat

1. He sleeps under the covers. The other night I yelled, “Chris stop it” to which Chris groggily turned around and said “what?” I realized he was two feet away from me and it was the cat that kept pushing me off the bed. We have a king size bed and somehow both of us end up clinging on for dear life, while the cat is comfortably occupying the entire middle area. Under the covers.

2. When he decides he has had enough slumber for the night (usually about 6 hours) he will freak out under the covers until one of us frees him. It’s always nice to be awoken at 5am by a cat that is using your body as a ladder to climb out of the bed. Super nice.

3. Every morning he  awkwardly stumbles towards the door then proceed to scratch the CRAP out of the door until one of us lets him out. Also nice at 5am.

4. He plays with the dog. They chase each other around and sometimes the dog will put the cats whole head in his mouth. They have a weird relationship.

5. Geoffrey loves ALL food. He begs for anything you have, like the other day when he wanted my cupcake. As for his own food, he spits 90% of his dry food on the ground. He doesn’t even have the kind of food with the different shapes/flavors, they are all the same little nuggets, yet he only ingests approximately, every 9th piece. Which leads me to picking up soggy kibble off the floor, unless the dog gets there first.

So that’s Geoff for ya. He’s silly and cute and I love that he has so much character.

Okay lets move on from talking about furry friends and get on to a feathered friend.

Things I’m Loving

18 Jan

Hey everyone,

I hope you’re all having a fabulous day today! I thought it would be fun to stop in and do a little post about some things I’ve been loving lately! It’s a nice change from all the pasta and sandwiches I’ve been posting lately.

This post is 100% calorie free!

Today we have some beauty products, clothing, and food! I know, I just can’t not talk about food.

Trust me, I’ve tried.

Ready, let’s go!

(you can click on the images to go to the website for the product)

First Up, Beauty products:

Eos Lip Balm in Summer Fruit

I have been loving this balm for a while now, I have one in my purse at all times! It’s a great daily lip balm, doesn’t feel too oily or sticky, just smooth and moisturizing. I have tried all the different scents I can find and I have to say the Summer Fruit is still my favorite. The smell totally reminds me of something but I can’t put my finger on it!

Now as much as I love this lip balm for every day, I made a new discovery of an awesome super moisturizing lip balm that is perfect for winter…

Nivea Soothing Care Stick

This one is awesome if you have really chapped lips, especially at this time of year, this is needed! It doesn’t have a strong smell, and it goes on really nicely. This has been my go to balm for the past few weeks!

Pureology Shampoo & Conditioner in Hydrate

Pureology has been my friend for years! Recently due to trying to save money, I cut it out of my budget (it is quite expensive) and I have regretted it ever since! The formula is sulfate free so it won’t try and strip your hair. It’s just 100% natural, no chemicals. You can tell it’s good because you only need the teeniest amount. Your hair just feels amazing after using it for only a few days. Although it is pricier than most other shampoos on the market, it lasts for SO long (because you use so little), I think if you figured it out it would probably actually end up being less expensive in the long run.

I use the hydrate because my ends are quite dry but they have a whole bunch of different formulas depending on what your hair needs. You can take the quiz on their site if you want to find out which system is best for you.

Clarisonic Aria

Okay, so this is more of a want because I don’t actually have this. I have heard so many good things about the Clarisonic and I have friends that have them and I have been told that it totally changes your skin! I would love this for deep cleaning! Maybe I will have to hit Mr. Delish up for this as a Valentines Day Gift :)

Lu Lu Lemon No Limits Tank

I got this little baby for Christmas and I love it! It’s nice and long so it isn’t riding up when I’m working out (which is my biggest pet peeve.) At the same time it is non-restricting and you stay cool. I also suggest it if you like wearing workout tanks but your stomach is your problem area, its nice and loose in that area.

Bolthouse Farms Organic 100% Carrot Juice

I have been drinking a glass of this every morning. I started drinking it a few weeks back because my skin was acting crazy and I know that carrot juice is full of Vitamin A, which is great for your skin, and eyesight as my mom always says. Anyways I started drinking it for my skin but I have felt much more energetic since I started drinking this daily, so i think I will continue! You can buy this at most grocery stores, I get mine at Costco because they carry 3 packs of the big bottles for like $8!

Chobani 0%! ANY flavor.

I have loved this yogurt forever, it’s just an awesome product and it is unlike anything else available. Unfortunately for us Canadians, it isn’t available on the west coast at the time being. I know it is available in some stores in the Toronto area, so hopefully it will be here soon! My favorite flavors are Raspberry, Pomegranate, Strawberry and Peach. I am just waiting for the store I go to in Bellingham to carry the new Pear and Banana flavors! Non-fat, high in protein and delicious, how can you go wrong!

GT Synergy Kombucha in Cosmic Cranberry

I know I have talked about GT’s Kombucha before, but this one is a new flavor I fell in love with! By far my new favorite, you have to try it! This is another product that I get in the US, but I have noticed some health stores here beginning to carry it here in Canada. Hopefully it will be available everywhere soon!

and last thing….

Yogi Green Tea Kombucha

This is one tasty tea! I usually buy the Yogi Pure Green tea, which I love. My mom recently noticed this one at the store and bought it for me and it’s amazing! I finished off the whole box in about a week! It’s awesome AND you can now buy this at Superstore! Win!

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this post and I would love to know….

What product or products are you loving lately?

Are you lovin’ any of the same products as me?

New Blog Feature: Ziplist!

16 Jan

Hey ya’ll!

I wanted to stop by and show you a great new feature that I have added to my blog that will hopefully make your life a lot easier!

I have been trying to figure out a way to make my recipes more organized and printable, and in my search I came across this wonderful website called Ziplist.

Ziplist is a system that allows users to keep an ongoing recipe box and shopping list as well as even print coupons for items on your shopping list. It is available online here, and also via apps for iphone, ipad or android devices!

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Sign up for a free account here

Step 2: Look for the little blue ‘Save Recipe’ button on all Miss Delish recipes (or recipes on other blogs using ZipList) Click on the button to save the recipe to your personal recipe box.

Step 3: Install the ZipList button on your toolbar for use on websites that do not have the ZipList feature!

It’s as easy as that! Your shopping list and recipe box will save on all your devices, so if you save a recipe while browsing on your computer, it will be available on your iphone and ipad as well!

To find out more about the ZipList system, check out their website.

For My Fellow Bloggers:

Ziplist is an amazing tool for bloggers! WordPress even has a plugin that you can add directly onto your site. The plugin allows you to enter the recipe portion of your post into the ZipList plugin, and then it converts it into an easy to read and printable recipe that will appear once you post. The best part is, once someone Zips your recipe, it goes to ZipLists recipe discovery page, for other viewers to see.

I hope you all enjoy this new feature and feel free to give me your feedback on it! I will begin switching all my recipes over to this format but please bear with me as it may take a while!

Shrimp Po’ Boys

15 Jan

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start!

I never seem to get a chance to post anything on Mondays, it’s just too nuts and unless I get it ready to post the week before, it’s just plain not going to happen!

Since I don’t post on Mondays, I always have to tell you about my weekend on Tuesday, which causes a problem because I usually can’t remember what I was doing 5 minutes ago, never mind 2 days ago!

I’m worried about what I’m gonna be like when I’m 80 when I’m like this at 25…

Luckily I wracked by brain and figured out what I did. Goo me.

On Friday night, myself and my good friend Tascha, went up to Whistler with Mr. Delish and her Fiance as well. We just went for a quick overnight trip, but it was totally fun and refreshing just to get away for one night. There was so much snow in Whistler and it was FREEZING cold. Like -15 in the village during the day. Very, very, cold.

By the time we got up there, we were in dire need of a glass of wine, and unfortunately although we were frozen, somehow our wine was lukewarm. So we came up with an innovative way to cool down our drinks.

I’m still laughing at this.

We went for a nice dinner out and then came back and relaxed. The next morning I got to see the view from our room…

Absolutely gorgeous!

We ended up going to this great Crepe place called Crepe Montagne, if you’re ever in Whistler, this place is awesome for breakfast.

After breaky, we headed home and it was nice to still have all day Saturday and Sunday free! Saturday we bummed around on Saturday, then Sunday I went with a friend to look at show homes!

We’re not even close buying yet, I just wanted to go an look to get some ideas. In our area there are SO many new complexes and houses being built. I swear we could have gone to 20 different show homes all within a couple kilometers of where I live now.

It was nice to go to get a list of what we really want in our first home. Mr. Delish didn’t come, when we get closer to purchasing he will come along, although I am pretty sure he just wants a big garage. His checklist is a lot shorter than mine!

Anyways, lets get to the food!

Toasted Butternut Squash Ravioli with Dijon Truffle Vinaigrette

11 Jan

Yo yo yo yo!

Hope you’re all having a fab morning so far!

I have been up to nothing productive lately, like literally, nothing I can think of.

If I had to make a list of the top 5 productive activities I have completed in the past week, it would look something like this:

1. Created a Pinterest board of furniture/designs/ideas for our new house

2. Pinned all the things.

3. Made a list of Oscar nominated movies that I have yet to see, so that I can make a point of trying to watch them all.

4. Realized that I have only seen Django Unchained and Life of Pi, so I better get on it.

5. Figured out a way to have at least two breakfasts per day, maybe three if I really put my mind to it.

So yeah, that pretty much speaks for itself.

Going back to whole pinterest thing, I mentioned to you before that Mr. Delish and I are currently living with my parents as we are saving up to buy our own house. We haven’t put a time frame on when we plan to buy, we are just trying to save as much as possible and then once we have enough we will start looking at places.

We also decided that instead of having to put down a bunch of money at once to buy new stuff for our first home, we will slowly buy things as we go and then just keep them aside for when we move. Hopefully that will make things a little easier on the wallet when it comes to buying.

This all being said, I figured it was a grand idea to make a pin board for ideas of what we need/want and then I can kind of check it off as I go. We do have a lot of stuff already as we have lived on our own before, but a lot of it is older hand me down kind of things and we would like to have some nice stuff that we can be proud of when we finally own our first home.

Yesterday I bought this really pretty coffee maker!

If you want to follow along on my journey, you can check it out here!

Okay so on to the goods.
